Jose T. Ramirez LMSW, LCDC, SAP 
Jose T. Ramirez LMSW, LCDC, SAP has been serving the mental health and substance abuse population since 2002. He has been fortunate to work in detox, residential, inpatient, and outpatient settings. Jose has worked with a variety of different populations and ages throughout his career. He has experience with treating individuals who suffer from depression, anxiety, substance use, addictions outside substances, grief, trauma, and relationships. He is known for a direct approach to complex cases. Jose caters to the client’s needs and empowers them to communicate these needs with those closest to them. 

Jose is certified as a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) which serves substance abuse services for United States Department of Transportation (DOT) and non-DOT employees. Jose conducts initial evaluations, formulates a treatment plan, and a follow-up evaluation with the employee before the individual returns to duty.

Jose has a strong relationship with the network of people that serve the Coastal Bend and stretches beyond the Texas state border. Jose has conducted workshops about synthetic marijuana, alcohol, illicit drug use, the treatment of drugs and alcohol, and mental health. Mr. Ramirez conducts motivational speeches about his personal experiences with social service agencies, law enforcement, and government officials across the state. 

Jose conducts evaluations for individuals who have committed crimes that need legal assistance with determining the severity of their drug use. Jose has educated the public about addiction, assisted in Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) trainings, and educated the judicial systems to secure the fidelity of the law.

Jose studied at the nationally recognized Center for the Study of Addiction, now known as the Center for Collegiate Recovery Communities at Texas Tech University. He received his bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Substance Abuse in 2003. He received his master’s degree in social work from Our Lady of the Lake University in 2015.

Jose is currently seeing clients at Yellow Arrow Consulting. His mission is empowering people for the journey to take back their lives.
